Emphasising on considering common civil code, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday said that lack of political awareness put India in difficulties.

Uniform Civil Code par vichar hona chahiye (Uniform Civil Code should be considered), Bhagwat said at Dastan farm near Kathavada village on the outskirts of Ahmedabad. India is big brother of the world and many nations are looking at India for the solutions of many problems, said the RSS Sarsanghchalak adding that India has always given message of peace. Government alone will not able to do everything, people should also co-operate, he opined.

“The world wants India to develop and if Hindus will progress the nation will become prosperous. Hindus will definitely progress, if they unite. Hindus are responsible for good and bad circumstances of the country,” said Bhagawat, while addressing around 12,000 RSS workers at the valedictory function of RSS Karyakarta Shibir (Gujarat region) at Dastan farm.

Terming creator of RSS Dr. Hedgevar as great social worker and true patriot, he said that people understood RSS after it worked for many years. Truth is always backed by natural power and it doesn’t require propaganda, he added. “This is Hindu nation. Hindu religion is for everyone as Sanatan religion sees god in everybody and accept all. We should know the religion which we are following,” he said.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah, Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel and her Council of Ministers, former Gujarat Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel, Ahmedabad Mayor Minaxi Patel and many others attended the function. Ahead of the valedictory function, Bhagawat also joined a procession of Karyakarta on open jeep to oversee discipline of the participants of the Shibir.

Meanwhile Dwarka Pith Sankaracharya, Swami Sadanand Saraswatiji, who shared the dais with RSS chief claimed that biggest suffer of religious conversion are Hindus and others only supporting it. "Sanatan Dharma (religion) is the ancient religion. Conversion activities have made biggest dent to Hindu religion.

For centuries, Hindus are being converted into Muslims and Christians. Since Mughal era till now Hindus are suffering from conversion activities," said Swami Sadanand Saraswati, adding that Hindus need to protect their religion, even at the cost of their lives as they need to think over where the next generation will go after 50 years.
