Contending that the BJP was running was ruling the country in a dictatorial manner, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Nana Patole on Wednesday charged that since 2014, an un-imposed emergency was on in the country and that the ruling dispensation at the Centre was “misusing” investigating agencies like ED, CBI and Income Tax to “topple” the opposition governments and break their parties.
Talking to the media persons here, the MPCC chief said that the BJP had adopted the divide and rule method like the British.
He said that action was being taken through the CBI and ED against the leaders or political parties who did not support the BJP.
“The BJP is working to eliminate the opposition in the country. CBI raids on Aam Aadmi Party's Manish Sisodia and Rashtriya Janata Dal MLA's house in Delhi is an example of this.
BJP is misusing CBI, ED, Income Tax systems to gain political advantage. BJP is restless after losing power in Bihar,” he said,
Patole alleged that no action is taken against those who support BJP.
“The BJP is working in the country in a more brutal way than the British. BJP has forgotten the promise given to the people,” he said.
Patole said that the BJP came to power at the centre by making promises to reduce inflation, double farmers' income, provide 2 crore jobs every year, bring back black money, “but since coming to power, this government has been working only for a handful of industrialists, not for the people”.
Patole said that inflation and unemployment had increased tremendously in the country, while problems of farmers and workers had multiplied.
“But the Narendra Modi government has failed to solve them," he said.
The State Congress chief said that to avoid giving answers to the real questions, the BJP continued to raise religious issues. “People are tired of BJP and their place will be shown in the upcoming elections,” Patole said.
