A day after Congress president Sonia Gandhi took on BJP’s prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi for using neech (low level) barb at Kushinagar in UP, Modi on Friday responded to her in the same language while suggesting that the term unch-neech didn’t suit her. He also said that the Congress is using such language in desperation to salvage their lost political ground.
“Madam Soniaji you are a party chief and when you use terms like unch aur neech it does not suit you..it does not look good,” said Narendra Modi while addressing a public rally at Motihari. He also addressed two other rallies at Siwan and Gopalganj in Bihar.
“Inki sarkar to ab gayee…yeh baat inko pareshan kar rahi hai,” said Modi amid loud cheers from the assembled crowd in Motihari.
“A certain defeat in this election is appearing to be troubling Madam Soniaji and she is upset that the Congress’ game of caste and communal politics is coming to an end now,” said Modi.
He also sought to know from her as who had first started the use of the term unch-neech. “I want to ask them who started the politics of untouchability in the countryIJ...let me tell you it’s the same people who do vote-bank politics and had started the politics of untouchability in the country,” he said.
While alleging Sonia for resorting to the politics of unch and neech, Modi further said that during the entire election process the BJP has never wavered from development based politics. “Hum kabhi bhi development politics ki baat se alag nahi hue,” he declared emphatically. “There should not be any place for politics of hatred in our country,” he said.
“Recently a Kerala Minister was asked to give an explanation by the State Government for meeting him and then a Congress leader demanded that the Bharat Ratna award conferred on melody queen lata Mangeshkar be taken back for praising him..I want to ask you (Congress party), what kind of politics is thisIJ” he said.
He further said that “it does not reflect well of the party when it targets those who praise me and at the same time cast aspersion on me for pursuing neech rajniti”.
He also connected with the youth saying that this mother-son Government had promised to provide employment to 10 crore youth in five years. “Have you got employmentIJ” he asked and when responded with big “No”, he added, “Did they not play fraud with youIJ “Will you not teach a lesson through your vote to those who cheated youIJ”
“Do you all also want to spoil your future like your parents did for the last 60 yearsIJ This mother-son Government has ruined the country in these 60 years,” roared Narendra Modi.
While appealing to the young voters, Modi also assured that when the Government will be changed at the Centre this time, there would be a new policy for generating employment for unemployed youths of the country.
At Siwan, a chaos erupted at Modi’s rally when a crowd of supporters broke barricades while trying to get closer to the dais.
While addressing the supporters, Modi appealed to them that they should cast their vote “without any fear of intimidation”.
“There was a time when even policemen feared to venture out during night in Siwan... criminals and goons ruled the city. This election is for peace and prosperity,” he said while crowd cheered loudly.
Similarly at Gopalganj, a huge crowd had gathered at NaMo’s public rally where he appealed to the voters to exercise their franchise for a new change in the country. “Biharse mujhe bahut pyar hai..umeed hai,” he said. Motihari, Siwan and Gopalganj go to poll on May 12.
