The mystery over two missing Pakistani women married to Indian men was solved on Wednesday, as both the females were found in Jodhpur with their children.
Saira Begum and Nasir Banu, both cousin sisters and originally residents of Karachi, Pakistan were married to two residents of Ahmedabad and were residing in Paladi area. Their sudden disappearance created lots of doubts in the wake of the tense situation on the Indo-Pakistan border.
According to police the women left their homes due to domestic problem. Gujarat police have brought them back to Ahmedabad and initiated further investigation in the case. The police said, Saira was married four years ago and was mother of a two-and-a-half years old boy while Nabira was married about a year-and-a-half ago and has a two month old daughter. According to the complaints lodged with the police, the two women left home on Sunday evening taking their children along with them and did not return. The police was told that the women had also taken their mobile phones, Pakistani passports, long-term visa issued for their stay in India after marriage and all other relevant documents in original.
The two women were seen boarding an autorickshaw in the CCTV footage available at the street corners and the police questioned the drivers of the vehicle used by them to trace them to Jodhpur.
The family members said there were no family feuds and that they were clueless why the women left. Police believe that the women could have escaped to Pakistan but were unable to fathom the reason for their wanting to leave.
