Three men have been arrested in connection with the alleged gang rape of two minor sisters in Jharkhand's Khunti district. A fourth accused is absconding, and police have launched raids to trace him.

According to the police complaint, the incident took place on Monday in the Maranghada area. The two sisters, residents of Murhu police station limits, and another minor girl from the Sayko area had reportedly become acquainted with one of the accused about a week earlier.

The accused allegedly contacted the three girls and lured them on the pretext of taking them for a ride and dropping them home. He reportedly took them to the Maranghada area on a scooter and a motorcycle before calling other associates to join him.

The girls were allegedly taken to separate isolated locations, where the two sisters were sexually assaulted. The third minor girl managed to escape from the accused.

After the incident, the victims informed their family members, who subsequently took them to the police station and lodged a complaint.

An FIR has been registered at the Mahila Police Station against four accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and other relevant provisions of law.

Police identified the three arrested accused as Gopal Munda alias Rahul Munda (19), Manish Lohra, a resident of Khunti, and Mansa Tuti. All three are adults and are being questioned.

The fourth accused, identified as Prabhu Sahay (26), remains at large. Police teams are conducting raids to arrest him.

The investigation is underway. Police have not disclosed further details about the victims, in keeping with the need to protect the identity and privacy of minors.
