Two Independent lok Sabha MPs from Bihar on Monday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. The development gives party a big boost in Bihar where it is trying to gain  grounds after its split of its alliance with the ruling Janata Dal (United) Banka MP Putul Kumari is wife of late former Union Minister Digvijaya Singh while Om Prakash Yadav is an independent MP from Siwan.

Welcoming the two MPs into his party fold, BJP chief Rajnath Singh said people are unhappy with the Congress and want a change of Government.

“Congress has also accepted the fact that it will lose the lok Sabha elections. As I said at our party conclave, Congress will indulge in all kinds of activities in its bid to prevent BJP from coming to power,” Singh said. He claimed that BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is the most popular leader in the country today.

BJP sources claimed a couple of other MPs, including those from the JD(U), were willing to join the party and an announcement could be expected soon.
