One Sanjay, an accused in a 2012 gangrape case, allegedly shot himself in the arm after the victim’s brother refused to quash the case against him, in order to implicate the victim’s brother.
According to the police, the incident was reported on Sunday night when the two accused identified as Sanjay and Sandeep, who had raped a minor in 2012, reached the residence of the victim. Sanjay threatened the victim’s brother to withdraw the case. When he did not pay any heed to his threat, Sanjay shot himself in the arm and told his Sandeep to inform the police and rope him in a fake case. Both Sanjay and Sandeep have been arrested.
