Himachal Pradesh Police has booked two Covid-19 patients, both journalists, for unauthorised entry into the State from neighbouring Punjab. Director General of Police (DGP) S.R. Mardi said on Thursday that the duo, who worked in a Hindi newspaper in Jalandhar, had entered the state illegally in a truck transporting vegetables on April 10.

They tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday.

First Information Reports (FIRs) have been registered against both the men for violating the ongoing curfew and the truck drivers have also been booked, the DGP added.

Issuing a warning to drivers engaged in supply of essential commodities or cargoes, the DGP said any driver found to be ferrying unauthorised persons from other states to HP would be dealt sternly as per law.
