Welcoming the Supreme Court’s verdict dismissing a bunch of petitions seeking an independent enquiry into Judge loya’s death and ruling that the judge had died due to “natural causes”, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said here on Thursday that “truth has prevailed”.

Slamming the Congress, left parties and some media organisations for trying to “malign” image of BJP’s national president Amit Shah, Fadnavis said, “Satyameva Jayate (truth has prevailed). The Supreme Court has accepted the report (on the circumstances leading to Judge loya’s death) submitted by the Maharashtra government. The Congress, left parties and some media organisations which were projecting a wrong picture stand exposed. The apex court’s verdict comes as a slap on the faces of all those who tried to create unnecessary doubts about Judge loya’s death”.

Fadnavis said that in view of the supreme court’s verdict,  Congress president Rahul Gandhi, his party’s senior leaders, leaders of the leftist parties and media organisations that had tried to “sow doubts” about Judge loya’s death in the minds should tender an apology to the nation and the Supreme Court.

Charging that the Opposition parties were carrying out a false propaganda against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior BJP leaders, Fadnavis said: “The Opposition parties have nothing to talk about the development works being done in a big way by the Narendra Modi government. No wonder, they are carrying out false propaganda against our government. I condemn the conspiracy hatched by the Opposition parties to malign our government and senior BJP leaders”.
