The day Election Commission has issued notification for Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh State president of BJP Keshav Prasad Maurya has demanded that corrupt officers should be removed immediately.
“This is my appeal to the Election Commission to transfer corrupt officials, posted at higher places and working as Samajwadi Party workers, at the earliest. Unless these officials are removed we can not expect free and fail elections in the State,” Maurya told The Pioneer here on Wednesday.
He said that many officers –both administrative and police - at the district level take directions from the local leaders of ruling party. The BJP workers and leaders are being persecuted because these officials do not implement the law of the land.
“To the best of my knowledge I know some senior officials working in Chief Minister’s secretariat too work as Samajwadi Party worker. The Election Commission should take note of this and remove these leaders from the current posts at the earliest,” he said.
Maurya later in a statement said that people want to get rid of the corrupt and inefficient Government of Akhilesh Yadav. “last time people were fed up with Mayawati’s corruption and gave Akhilesh a chance. But he failed to live up to the expectations of people. The Samajwadi Party cadre got embroiled in Rsgoondagardi’ which has tarnished the image of Uttar Pradesh,” he said.
“In this scenario only BJP is the alternative for the masses. They have seen Modi’s government and how his pro-development and pro-poor policies have benefited masses. UP Government will follow suit and make Uttar Pradesh as Uttam Pradesh,” he said.
