Tough stand forced criminal to seek mercy, says UP CM Yogi

Blaming the previous Samajwadi Party Government for allowing law and order to deteriorate in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the tough stand taken by his regime forced criminals to seek mercy.

“Samajwadi Party was responsible for the riots in Muzaffarnagar. Those were the days of yore. Now, criminals are seeking mercy as the Government has upped the ante against them,” Yogi said while addressing an election rally in Gangoh on Tuesday.

Despite being Saharanpur, Gangoh is a part of Kairana Parliamentary constituency where bypolls will be held on May 28.

The CM issued a stern warning to criminals and anti-social elements targeting women and traders, telling them to mend their ways or face the music.

We are working tirelessly to solve problems of the people. We are providing 18 hours of power to farmers, which was unthinkable just a year ago. We are building infrastructure and promoting local products through ‘One District, One Product’ scheme. This will help in generating employment,” Yogi said.

The CM further said that the Government was in the process of restarting closed industrial units and sugar mills. “If we are able to do it, it would generate jobs for local youth. If things go as per plan, three lakh youths will be given jobs this year,” Yogi said.

The CM also assured cane farmers that all their dues would be paid soon and that his Government would solve their problem and not increase them.

“This BJP Government in UP is for the people and is working hard to fulfill aspirations of the masses. We have given uniforms to children of Government schools and simplified several laws to benefit the common people particularly farmers,” he added.

Polling for Kairana lok Sabha seat would be held on May 28 where BJP candidate Mriganka Singh is pitted in a direct contest against Rashtriya lok Dal’s Tabbasum Hassan. The seat fell vacant due to the death of Mriganka’s father and sitting BJP member Hukum Singh.
