The Supreme Court on Tuesday decided to hear a plea by the harassed former Gwalior district judge who has sought constitution of a three-member judicial panel to examine her complaint of sexual harassment against a sitting MP High Court judge.

The Bench headed by Chief Justice RM lodha informed senior advocate Indira Jaising who appeared for the former judicial officer to approach a bench headed by Justice JS Khehar who was designated to hear the case.

The former judge urged CJI to set up a three-judge committee that would comprise the Chief justices of a High Court other than that of Madhya Pradesh and a judge to probe her allegation. She also sought her reinstatement to the post from that she gave up under duress as she alleged that the accused High Court judge who sexually harassed her was also the Administrative Judge who caused her transfer to a faraway court for not submitting to his sexual favours.

The petition demanded that till the probe into her complaint was over, the accused judge should not be given any judicial or administrative work. The woman judge had earlier refused to participate in the proceedings of the inquiry committee set up by the MP High Court as the judge probing the case was the one who had ordered her transfer.
