Former Delhi law Minister Jitendra Singh Tomar's second round of probe tour will be ended on Thursday when the Delhi Police sleuths will take him back to the capital after the visit at Bundelkhand University college in Jhansi where he claimed to have studied and obtained a migration certificate.
Investigating officials said they have not found any such record of Tomar's migration certificate which he claimed to have got from the university.
Tomar was arrested by the Delhi Police on charges of fake and forged degrees on June 9. He is in four days of police custody.
The 49-year-old MlA from Trinagar constituency has also told the interrogators that his younger brother Nagendra helped him in getting fake certificates and degrees. Police said they have summoned his brother to join the probe on Thursday so that both the brothers could be confronted.
Police officials told The Pioneer that Tomar was interrogated in front of Bundelkhand university staff. "He remained in the university for five hours and interrogated in front of staff members," said the officer adding no record was found which could proof his claims. Tomar claimed to have got the migration certificate from Bundelkhand University in 1993.
He was taken to the university on Tuesday after a Delhi court extended his police remand for four more days on Monday.
On Tuesday, Tomar withdrew his bail plea from a sessions court, saying that since he has already been sent to police remand, he does not want to pursue the matter as of now and would file a fresh plea before a Metropolitan Magistrate after the expiry of his police custody.
