Togadia vows to fight it out against crime branch

Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) president Pravin Togadia on Wednesday said he would take legal action against Ahmedabad Crime Branch officials for hatching a conspiracy against him at the behest of a “political boss”  from Delhi. He also demanded that call records of Crime Branch joint commissioner JK Bhatt be made public to establish if he had any conversation with the Prime Minister.

Talking to mediapersons, the VHP leader blamed that Crime Branch officials were harassing nationalist activists at the behest of his political bosses in Delhi. Togadia was referring to JK Bhatt, who had on Tuesday made public certain facts to dispute Togadia’s claims that he had been unconscious while on the way to airport and did not know how he landed  at the hospital.

Togadia accused the Crime branch of circulating a fake video to tarnish his image and made the claim that in 2005 a fake video on Sanjay Joshi was made and circulated. “ They are  they trying to build a same conspiracy with me by circulating fake video. A similar fake video was made  on Sanjay Joshi in Gujarat, “ Togadia said,

He also claimed that he knows the  names of those who made these fake videos and said he will expose them at the right time.

Togadia said his close associate Ghanshyam, who was picked up Ahmedabad Crime Branch officials for interrogation during the wee hours on Wednesday, has been coerced to go against him.

The VHP president had gone missing for over 10 hours on Monday morning after the news of a group of Rajasthan Police had come to arrest him in a 10-year-old case. It was only late in the evening when the news of Togadia landing unconscious at local hospital helped calm frayed nerves of VHP activists, who had come on streets to protest.

Interestingly, Togadia claimed that he had received a communication from neighbouring Rajasthan that the case under which he was to be arrested was already withdrawn in 2015. He further said that if it was the case then there was no question of arresting him. “It means under somebody's influence Bhatt and other officials acted,” he claimed.
