Togadia firm on indefinite fast for construction of Ram temple

Pravin Togadia, who was forced to quit as international president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) is all set to go on indefinite fast for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya from Tuesday.

last week Togadia not only lost his position in the right wing organisation, but he was ousted from the organisation also. Now he has decided to pressurise BJP led Government in Centre for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya by going on fast agitation.

“Thousands of people had given sacrifice for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya including that of 59 Karsevaks who lost their lives in Godhra train carnage in 2002. VHP kept on saying that once BJP would have majority in Parliament, a Bill facilitating construction of Ram temple will be passed. Now the time has come to begin the construction,” said Togadia who has invited the newly appointed chief of VHP to either join him in the fast or start pressurising on Government to pass the Bill in the parliament.

The known Narendra Modi baiter also took a dig on the Prime Minister saying that at a time when soldiers are not safe on the border and farmers are committing suicide coupled with women’s safety issues in the country, Prime Minister choose foreign tour.

When asked about his future plans and whether he would float another right wing organisation like VHP, he said he would decide future plans of action post fast agitation. Meanwhile, three top Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leaders Chintan Upadhyay, Yashwant Chaudhary and Hareshbhai Thakkar called on Togadia for an hour-long meeting.

He also criticised RSS chief for his statement that all differences and issues in the independent India must be resolved through court and not on the street.
