A two-year-old minor was allegedly abducted from Noida’s Rahul Vihar colony and then raped by an unidentified man on Tuesday late night, said police, adding that she was discovered abandoned in unconscious state along Hindon river on Wednesday morning. The victim has been admitted at GB Pant hospital in New Delhi where her condition is said to be critical.
Police said the victim, along with her mother, was sleeping outside her home on Tuesday night. When her mother woke up around 1:30 am she found her daughter missing.
Police said her mother informed about the incident to her husband and then the duo went to search their daughter in and around the area. “They were aghast to find her along Hindon River. She was found unconscious in a pool of blood with wound marks on her body. They rushed her to the district hospital but the doctors referred her to GB Pant hospital, Delhi,” said official.
The matter was later informed to local police by the hospital administration.
Police said the victim’s mother lodged a complaint that an unidentified man abducted her daughter as she was sleeping along with her. The accused brought her along Hindon riverbed where he raped her and fled after leaving her behind.
Superintendent of police, Noida Dinesh Yadav said an FIR against the unidentified man under Section of Protection of children from Sexual offences Act (POCSO) has been registered at Phase-III police station.
