The West Bengal BJP has alleged that the TMC Government was planning to maliciously prosecute “20 of our leaders through false cases,” so as to thwart the rise of the saffron outfit in West Bengal.
Senior BJP leader Mukul Roy on Wednesday quoted from a “Government circular” issued by the State IB to various district SPs to implicate 20 BJP leaders in various false cases.
“The IB has named 20 leaders like our State party president and MP Dilip Ghosh, general secretary Rahul Sinha, MPs Rupa Ganguli, Locket Chatterjee, Samik Bhattacharya, Sayantan Basu, Jayprakash Majumdar, Arjun Singh, Pratap Banerjee and others and sent a directive to the district SPs to this effect,” Roy told reporters in Kolkata. Though there was no reaction from the TMC.
