TMC MlA does a Tapas Pal

Published on:

In yet another hate speech nearly matching that of Trinamool Congress MP Tapas Pal, a party MlA Dr Nirmal Maji who is also the chairman of the Assembly Standing Committee on Health on Thursday tried to entice the people to burn down doctors who dared to oppose Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Addressing a meeting of the TMC-affiliated Progressive Doctors’ Association, Maji attacked the CPI(M)-backed doctors for burning the effigies of the CM and wondered “what will happen to them when the people catch them and burn their live effigies.”

Earlier, the Chief Minister who also heads the Health portfolio had suspended Principal of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital Dr Anup Roy blaming him and other senior health officials for the raging Japanese Encephalitis in North Bengal which had already killed more than 200 people. Protesting the suspensions as a part of Banerjee’s political vendetta the CPI(M)-backed Association of Health Services Doctors burnt her effigy.
