The Trinamool leadership remained tightlipped hours after an alleged picture showing a party MlA from Purulia beating up a local farmer in public going viral.
“We have no such information,” said senior leader Partho Chatterjee while MlA Swapan Belthoria denied allegations saying, “those are all forged photographs in order to malign me.” According to sources the Bengal ruling party legislator beat up Buta Karmakar a farmer for declining his order to take his vegetables for sale to Kisan Mandi where price was less than what he would get in the open market. The farmer’s audacity invited instant blows from the MlA, sources said adding the onlookers did not intervene as “no one dares to counter them.” Reacting to reports, BJP’s Rahul Sinha said “TMC leaders are always in denial mode after committing crimes .”
