An election-bound Trinamool Congress has out rightly rejected the Budget 2016 as “directionless effort” which is full of “high sounding nothing” and has no incentive for the middle and lower-middle class.

Attacking the Union Government for producing a “meandering” Budget Bengal Finance Minister Amit Mitra said “we are still studying the fine print of it. But on the face of it the Budget appears directionless, meandering and lacks vision.”

Insisting that it is a “high sounding nothing” which has “nothing for the Maanush (common man),” Mitra, whose ruling party is facing a stiff challenge from the left and Congress that had teamed up this time round added, “West Bengal will not benefit from this Budget.” leaders at the Trinamool Bhavan also called the Budget “hopeless” wondering why the Budget had to be shrouded in annexure. “This Budget is shrouded in annexure and opens up 100 percent FDI in many sectors,” the party said asking “why can’t the Government be transparent.”
