Alleged goons of the ruling TMC mounted more attacks on the BJP workers in Bengal. Several people including women were on Friday injured when alleged Trinamool workers attacked houses belonging to the BJP supporters at Ramchandrapur in Dola area of Diamond Habour in South 24 Parganas, sources said.
The Friday’s incident that came a day after the State leadership submitted a written complaint with Governor MK Narayanan was the part of continuing attacks on the BJP supporters accross South Bengal where the saffron party had done well in the recent general elections.“Our men had defied their diktats and taken part in elections and worked for the BJP during the polls,” said a victim, adding the Trinamool men were asking the BJP workers to keep away from politics or face the consequences.
“The have threatened us that they would realise huge sums of money as ‘fine’ and kill our men as they have done to the CPI(M) if we keep supporting the BJP,” a woman said.State BJP president Rahul Sinha had in a letter to the Governor on Thursday written about the recent spate of attacks on the party workers that included the incident of indiscriminate firing at the BJP men at Sandeshkhali in North 24 Parganas when 22 people were injured.
Soon after a central team of the BJP leadership visited Bengal to inquire into the Sandeshkhali firing more such attacks took place at Nayagram in West Midnapore, laudaha in Asansol parliamentary constituency, Sujapur in Falta police station in South 24 Parganas and Jharkhali again in the same district the State leadership alleged.
The Friday’s attack was the latest in the sequence. “The attacks are a result of the Trinamool’s nervousness with the rising popularity of the BJP,” Sinha said adding the people were watching and would give a befitting reply in the 2016 Assembly elections.

The recent spate of post-poll attacks on the BJP is also explained in terms of left workers joingin the BJP in big numbers hoping that the saffron party which had formed a Government at the Centre would be able to protect them from the attacks of the Trinamool Congress.
