Tiwari slams Nitish for ultimatum on lS election decision

Apparently anguished over three-day “ultimatum” from his party bosses to think over his decision either to contest the lok Sabha election or not, senior JD(U) leader and former party national spokesperson Shivanand Tiwari on Wednesday fired salvo at State party chief and expressed surprise over his memory. Tiwari also rued that Nitish Kumar wanted him to contest the poll not to win but to make sure that he would lose the election.

“From where does this ultimatum come from when I’d already communicated my decision to you that I’d not contest the lok Sabha poll on January 22 itselfIJ...this cast a strong doubt over your memory at this stage of life,” wrote Shivanand Tiwary in a letter addressed to the State JD(U) chief Basistha Narayan Singh.

“lagta hai ki aapki smaran shakti par umra ka asar samay se pehle padne laga hai,” wrote Tiwari who recently was dropped from re-nomination for the Rajya Sabha seat. The JD(U) dropped all its retiring RS members and instead fielded three new faces of Ramnath Thakur, Harivansh and Kehkasahn Pravin in their place.

All the three dropped RS members were offered party tickets to contest the upcoming parliamentary polls. Shivanand Tiwari was asked to contest from Buxar lS seat while NK Singh was offered Banka and Sabir Ali to contest from Sheohar constituencies.

Fuming over being served ultimatum from the party side, Tiwari also took on Bihar CM Nitish Kumar writing that he knew it well why he (Nitish Kumar) wanted him to contest the lS poll from Buxar.

“Main acchhi tarah janta hun ki Nitishji jitane ke liye nahi mujhe harane ke liye chunav ladne ko kah rahe hain,” said  Tiwari.

Tiwari also sought to know why Kumar had kept mum at the time when the JD(U) had come out of NDA and he had expressed his willingness to contest the lok Sabha pollIJ

“The way it was said to contest the poll at the city’s Sri Krishna Memorial hall it appears that it was not for me to win the election but to lose it,” wrote Tiwari. In a veiled reference, Kumar earlier had targeted Tiwari for what he had poured against him and the party at the Rajgir meet.

Jo kehte hain ki party ki sthiti thik nahi hain wo ab maidan mein aayen aur chunav lade..khali Dilli mein baith kar aram kariyega aur party ko target kijiyega..yeh nahi chalega,” said Kumar at SKM hall recently.

Tiwari has also explained in detail in his letter that it was because of him the other two leaders Sabir Ali and N K Singh too were “sacrificed” and not being re-nominated.
