Mumbai Police have arrested two more people in connection with the firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff, taking the total number of arrests in the case to 10, according to reports.
The accused have been identified as Samir and Jatin. The process to obtain their transit remand and bring them to Mumbai for further investigation is underway.
Investigators have found that Jatin, described as the ninth accused in the case, had travelled to Amritsar with two other accused, Kunal and Sumit, to procure weapons allegedly linked to the firing incident.
Samir, identified as the tenth accused, is reportedly a friend of Jatin. Police are investigating the roles of both men and their alleged links to the attack.
The latest arrests come a day after four people, including two women, were arrested for allegedly supplying weapons to the shooters. The four were identified as Kunal, 21, and Sumit, 19, from Haryana's Sonipat district, and Radha, 23, and Babita, 23, from Uttar Pradesh.
According to the investigation, Kunal allegedly collected a pistol and 20 rounds from Amritsar with Sumit's assistance. He later allegedly persuaded Radha to travel to Mumbai with the weapon.
A Mumbai Police team had taken custody of the four accused from Delhi Police and was taking them to Mumbai for further questioning.
The firing took place in Mumbai's Juhu area, where three unidentified men allegedly arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire near Pushpa Park. Initial reports suggested that Shroff and two others had been injured.
Mumbai Police later clarified that the actor was safe and had not suffered any gunshot injuries. His driver and an autorickshaw driver were reportedly injured in the incident.
The investigation is continuing to establish the sequence of events, trace the alleged supply chain of the weapons and determine the roles of those arrested.
