The ongoing tiger census in Corbett Tiger Reserve and Rajaji National Park is expected to conclude by December end.
Though Rajaji officials point out that they will be able to provide more reliable and detailed information after the census exercise is over by the end of December, they state that three male and three female tigers have been caught by camera traps recently in Rajaji. Talking to The Pioneer, Rajaji National Park field director SP Subudhi said that 100 pairs of camera traps had been installed in the national park for the tiger census which was started earlier this month.
“Though we will be in a better position to provide reliable and detailed information in the near future, I can say that the camera traps have captured signs of good tiger movement in the national park. Till about three days ago, three tigers and three tigresses had been captured on the camera traps,” he added.
