The Jammu & Kashmir administration on Thursday reportedly released three politicians who were under detention since August 5.
According to media reports, Shoib Lone, former MLA and Congress leader, Yawar Mir, former PDP MLA and Noor Mohammad of National Conference were released by the State administration.
According to official sources, the State administration has started an elaborate exercise to review detention of politicians in the State and after reviewing individual cases they are expected to release more leaders in the days to come.
In another related development, J&K Home Department late Wednesday evening issued a fresh order inviting tourists to visit the State as it has withdrawn its previous order, restricting stay of pilgrims/tourists, issued on August 2.
The order issued by the Principal Secretary, Home Shaleen Kabra stated, “the Security Advisory requesting tourists visiting J&k to curtail their stay in the Kashmirvalley, issued on Aug 2nd, is hereby withdrawn. The tourists desirous of undertaking visit to the State shall be provided all necessary assistance and logistical support”.
Meanwhile, situation remained peaceful in different parts of Kashmir valley on Thursday. The degree colleges thrown open by the State authorities on Wednesday remained open with scanty student population.
Local hoteliers, transporters, tour operators and all others dependent on tourism industry are all looking forward to welcome fresh arrival of tourists in Kashmir valley in the coming days.
The biggest concern, however, remained absence of communication services and continued shut down during peak business hours in Kashmir valley.
