At least three personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) were injured when terrorists attacked their vehicle at Pantha Chowk on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway on the outskirts of Srinagar city on Monday evening.

In another incident, the security forces arrested three suspected Over Ground Workers (OGWs) on Srinagar Baramulla highway on the outskirts of Srinagar city.
Sources said suspected terrorists travelling in a vehicle jumped over a police checkpoint (Naka) while opening fire towards security guard personnel near Shalteng in Srinagar outskirts.
The security forces also retaliated and one among three suspects on board the vehicle was injured in the brief shootout.
Later, two suspected militants or Over Ground Workers were intercepted in the fleeing vehicle and overpowered near Narbal. They were taken into custody for questioning.
The injured militant has been taken to nearby JVC Hospital for treatment.
Arms and ammunition were also recovered from the arrested trio.
Reports said the trio was traveling from Pulwama in south Kashmir and belonged to the same area. However, Police have not revealed identity of the arrested persons.
“A vehicle-borne terrorist was intercepted by a naka party at Narbal leading to a brief exchange of fire in which one terrorist sustained injury while two others were apprehended. The injured has been evacuated to hospital for medical attention. Their identity is being ascertained,” a police spokesman said.
“Incriminating material including a huge quantity of arms and ammunition were recovered from the spot,” he said.
A case has been registered and the investigation has been initiated, the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, terrorists attacked residence of a former legislator in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Reports said that unknown men hurled a grenade towards the residence of a former MLA of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Abdul Razaq Zawoora, in Zawoora Shopian.
However, the grenade exploded outside the boundary wall of his residence and there was no damage reported from the site.
