A day after Mulayam Singh Yadav attacked his son Akhilesh Yadav, Shivpal Yadav has endorsed his brother saying ‘those who defy their father never progress in life’. Shivpal is the younger brother of Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Addressing a meeting in a school in his Assembly constituency Jaswantnagar in Etawah on Sunday Shivpal said, “The young generation should refrain from tormenting their parents and follow the family traditions and those who defy their parents never progress in their career’’. Shivpal Yadav said, “ I am with Netaje and I endorse what he had said in Mainpuri on Saturday.”
Shivpal Yadav dismissed the judicial probe ordered by the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath into the alleged irregularities in the Gomti river front development project. “I have nothing to worry about the probe. As long as I was the irrigation Minister the work on the project was executed as per the rules and the specifications of the civil engineering,” said Shivpal Yadav.
Shivpal Yadav is not in talking terms with his nephew Akhilesh Yadav and he is said to be working for floating the new party. After taking over as the national president on January 1 this year Akhilesh has marginalised his uncle and he has no role in the affairs of the party. Akhilesh has packed all the post in state and national executive of the party with his loyalist. During the assembly elections Shivpal Yadav had said he will float new political party after the assembly elections.
The Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav terming Akhilesh Yadav as the most untrustworthy person on Saturday had said, “a person who is not loyal to his father cannot be loyal to anyone.”
Mulayam Singh also said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the campaign for the state assembly elections had said the same thing and his statement made huge impact on the voters and the SP lost the elections. Mulayam Singh had also said that Akhilesh had given this opportunity to Modi to attack the Samajwadi party.
Akhilesh Yadav had promised to his father that he would restore the post of the national president to him. He not only reneged on his promise, akhilesh effectively marginalised his father also. Akhilesh after taking over as the national president got the bank accounts of the party freezed and later taking control. Though he had named Mulayam Singh as the as the star campaigner of the party during the state assembly elections , Mulayam Singh campaigned only in two constituencies –Jaswant nagar for his brother shivpal Yadav and lucknow Cantt for his daughter in law Aparna Yadav.
Meanwhile uncertainty has gripped the rank and file of the Samajwadi Party following the outburst of Mulayam Singh Yadav against his son on Saturday. The senior party leaders are groping in dark about the possible cause for the salvo fired by Mulayam Singh and its possible consequences on the party which is yet to come to terms with the worst ever poll debacle in its 25 year long history.
A young party leader in the core team of Akhilesh Yadav said the RsRscriticism of his son by Mulayam Singh Yadav could not have at a worse time then this as the party is struggling to recover from the shock of the electoral defeat and trying to set the house in order to meet the coming challenge like the urban local bodies and the by election to two lok Sabha and two assembly constituencies’’.
