Tension emerged in the old braj region, including Aligarh after some Muslim youths offered Namaz in Nandbaba temple in Mathura and four youths read hanuman chalisa at the Idgah. This brij region includes Aligarh, Mathura, Agra, kasganj, Hathras and Etah. Because of which the intelligence forces are keeping a close vigil on these type of places so that such type of incidents does not break the social fabric and communal harmony in these regions.
Aligarh is a sensitive city as it has a 100 year old history of riots related to violation of communal harmony and also a city which is a workplace of SIMMI, an terrorist organisation. The police and local intelligence are keeping close vigil on such religious places so as to maintain communal harmony.
According to intelligence sources this atmosphere of tension began after the incident of reading Namaz in a temple in Uttar Pradesh, and reading Hanuman Chalisa in Idgah has come up. A case has been registered against four youths for reciting Hanuman Chalisa at Idgah in Govardhan area of Mathura. The video of this is also becoming viral on social media. The police have taken the four youths into custody.
