Telugu actor Ravi Teja's brother dies in accident

B Bharat, brother of popular Telugu actor Ravi Teja, died in a road accident on the Outer Ring Road of Hyderabad last night.

According to police, Bharat was going alone in his Skoda car from Shamshabad airport towards Gachi Bowli when the speeding car hit a stationary lorry at Kotwalguda. Bharat died on the spot.

Alerted by the highway patrol, the Shamshabad police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Osamania Hospital.

Police inspector M Mahesh said that the lorry was parked on the roadside after it broke down. “We have booked a case against the lorry driver as the vehicle was parked without switching on the parking light to alert the other vehicles,” he said.

Such trucks and lorries without any warning light or radium marking  on the back pose a deadly threat to the speeding vehicles coming from behind causing major accidents on the ORR.

Death of Bharat, who had also worked in a few films, has plunged the Telugu film industry into mourning. After post-mortem, the body was cremated at Jubilee Hills crematorium on Sunday afternoon.

With this another VIP name has been added to the long list of victims of accidents on ORR. Earlier son and nephew of former Indian cricket captain Mohammed Azharuddin, son of Telugu film actor Kota Srinivas, son of former Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and his two friends and grandson of former State DGP P Ramulu died in accidents on the ring road.
