Telangana TDP loses one more MlA to TRS

Opposition Telugu Desam party continues to feel the tremors of the crushing defeat in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections. As the party was reduced to only one seat in 150 member GHMC, one more party MlA from the city switched loyalties to the ruling TRS.

TDP MlA from Qutubullahpur KP Vivekanand Goud on Tuesday met Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at his camp office and formally joined the TRS. KCR welcomed him in to the party by putting pink color bandana around his shoulders.

Speaking to the media Goud said that he decided to join the TRS to fulfil the aspirations of the people who had fully supported the TRS in the GHMC elections. “All the wards in my constituency were won by the TRS. It shows that the people were with the TRS”.

“This is like returning to my own home as I was with the TRS in the past and

participated in the movement for separate Telangana State”, he said.

Goud said that the TDP was badly hit by the absence of N Chandrababu Naidu in Telangana and was getting weakened.

Vivekananand Goud is the latest addition to the long list of the MlAs from opposition Congress and TDP who joined the TRS over the last one and a half years.

Reacting strongly to the development Telangana TDP president l Ramanna demanded that all those defecting to the other parties should resign from the assembly and seek fresh elections. He alleged that the TRS does not have any respect fro the democratic norms.

Acting Telangana TDP President A Revanth Reddy charged the TRS with purchasing the MlAs of other parties to wipe out the opposition from the state “People are watching the TRS and they will teach a less to it”, he said.
