In a daring incident, a youth in efforts to save modesty of his minor sister, that too on the occasion of Bhaiya Dooj was brutally battered to death in Unnao on Tuesday. The accused also raped the girl. local police, which became active only after the incident, claimed to have arrested two of the culprits while one is still absconding.
Reports said that Rekha (14), a student of Class IX in Fatehpur Chaurasi locality of Unnao went out to run some errand when she was trapped by three local youths on Tuesday morning. The accused tried to pull the girl to a secluded place, she raised an alarm following which her brother came to rescue her.
However, the accused brutally battered him, with sticks and rods, to death. After killing the boy they raped the victim and then fled from the scene.
The villagers informed the police and she was sent to the hospital. The police later conducted raids and claimed to have arrested two of the accused identified as Mahendra and Awadesh. A case was registered against them and they were arrested. Additional security forces have also been deployed in the area due to rising tension over the incident.
Meanwhile, a lady and her daughter have been murdered under mysterious circumstances on Monday night in Amroha. Sabreen (30), hailing from Gangdaspur hamlet of Didauli in Amroha and her 9-year-old daughter Afiqa, were found murdered in their house on Tuesday morning.
According to SP Amroha, two people had strangulated both to death and fled from the spot. Sabreen’s husband is in Mumbai, he has been informed and any clarification from his end could solve the murder.
In Meerut, three unidentified youths, alleged to be members of Bikers Gang struck in Broad daylight and killed two persons after opening indiscriminate fire over them in Hastinapur locality on Tuesday. The victims have been identified as Pappu and Mahesh.
