TDP questions Jagan on RS contest

Published on:

Suddenly YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy fell into defence on the occasion of Rajya Sabha elections. With a single demand of Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh, Jagan has offered his resignation from Parliament on April 6 if the Modi Government won’t announce it.

Already, YSRCP MPs, MlAs and other important leaders reached Delhi to make protests continuously to build pressure on Modi Government for SCS to AP.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India has announced Rajya Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh along with other States.

General Secretary of YSRCP, Vijay Sai Reddy, representing AP from his party. As his tenure is ending with this month, YSRCP has not offered his resignation in protest.

To build pressure on his political rivalry, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and to regain the confidence of Andhra people, Jagan announced both No Confidence Motion on Modi Government as well resignations of his lok Sabha MPs. Same time, he announced YSRCP contest in Rajya Sabha elections and he declared the candidature of Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, a businessman.

Utilising opportunity, the ruling Telugu Desam Party started by questioning of honesty and ethics of Jagan on the cause, SCS to AP.

“If Jagan is honest and bonds to ethical politics, how could he put a candidate for Rajya Sabha elections from his party when his lok Sabha MPs are put to resign if Modi Government won’t announce SCS by the end of Budget Session”, TDP raised.

“We always doubt his credibility. Jagan never stood on his words on the resignation of MPs. One year back he announced his MPs resignation, but he supported BJP in President and Vice President elections. Now, he announced his MPs resignations on April 6th excluding present Rajya Sabha MP Vijay Sai Reddy.

Again, he is putting another businessman in the contest of Rajya Sabha elections.

We don’t understand why this MPs resignation drama and on the other side why his party is contesting Rajya SabhaIJ Why he put April 6th as resignation dateIJ Why not immediatelyIJ Jagan knows, if lok Sabha General elections are due within 6 months, EC won’t conduct bi elections.

“If bi elections are conducted, Jagan knows, TDP will sweep his MPs seats also. That’s the reason, he is playing dramas. He never show commitment to the State reasons, but he concerned more about his cases”, TDP MlC, Budda Venkanna, alleged.
