A stable Government would be installed in Jammu & Kashmir soon as "very concrete and very positive efforts" were underway between the two major parties in the State, according to the BJP. Speaking at an event here, BJP general secretary Ram Madhav indicated that talks with PDP on forming a coalition Government in J&K were in progress.

"We are shortly going to have a good Government in Jammu & Kashmir," he reportedly said at an event organised by India Today group. The BJP and the PDP, the two parties which emerged first and second in the tally of seats, had made  headway in the talks for the coalition in the State when Governor's rule was imposed in the State. According to sources, the two parties may seal the deal after the Delhi election results.

The PDP had won 28 seats while the BJP collected 25 in the 87 strong State Assembly. Asked if the PDP was on board, he said, "There are very concrete and very positive efforts which are being made towards forming a good Government in the State". On the progress of the talks, he suggested that they were moving in a very positive direction. Madhav maintained that the mandate was for the BJP to be in the Government.
