Tacit admission by Didi on Narada?

After keeping mum for nearly a month after the Narada expose where TMC leaders were caught on camera taking bribes from a fictitious businessman in lieu of favours, the West Bengal Chief Minister finally opened her mouth on the issue on Thursday and made a tacit admission over what had transpired.

Stopping short of admitting guilt, Mamata Banerjee told an election rally that “some people are making deals worth a few lakh of rupees a big electoral issue, but what about those deals worth hundreds of crores that are struck in Delhi!”

Incidentally the Chief Minister had told an election rally a few days ago that the people should “consider that I am contesting from all the 294 constituencies and so they should vote for me and not for the Trinamool candidates in your areas.”

She also told another poll rally to reprimand her partymen and her for whatever guilt they have committed, “but do not take away your blessings from us as that will make things difficult for us.”

The Opposition promptly lapped up Mamata’s statement as a “tacit admission of corruption” saying “now she is finally admitting the guilt of her partymen.”

Mohd Salim of the CPI(M) said, “Now that she has admitted the guilt why does she not expel these leaders and take them away from the election fray.”

Arunabha Ghosh of the Congress said, “The Chief Minister can never take these people to task as they will start spilling the beans and she will be in touble if she takes action against them.”
