The Telangana Rashtra Samiti Government on Friday suffered a blow with the Hyderabad High Court striking down its decision to appoint Parliamentary Secretaries.
On a petition filed by Congress MP G Sukhinder Reddy and TDP MlA Revanth Reddy, the court ordered the scrapping of the posts saying there was no provision in the Constitution for such posts.
CM K Chandrashekar Rao had appointed six of his party MlAs as Parliamentary Secretaries and accorded them the status of Ministers of State. These include Jalgam Venkat Rao and Vinay Bhaskar (for Chief Minister’s office) V Satish Kumar (Education) G Kishore Kumar (Health), Srinivas Goud (Revenue), K lakshmi (Agriculture). BJP floor leader K lakshman welcomed the decision and said that now the TRS Government should open its eyes.
