Sweet moment of release for Koda

Published on:

After almost three and a half years in jail, former Chief Minister Madhu Koda walked out on Thursday, his way paved by an interim bail of three weeks granted by the Jharkhand High Court.

He was freed to take care of his mother, admitted in Apollo Hospital, after he landed in the Birsa Munda Central Jail for multi-crore money laundering on November 30, 2009.

Koda headed straight for hospital after his release and lost his composure along with his mother for several minutes, seeing her on a hospital bed.

His wife Geeta was also seen wiping away tears. Nevertheless, the former CM seemed quite relieved as he emerged from hospital.

He said, “I am quite satisfied to see my mother. I never had expected that I will be able see her alive. To serve my mother is my primary agenda right now; rest I will see later.”
