Sharpening his attack against the Congress leadership in the National Herald case, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has petitioned to CBI and Enforcement Directorate to register cases against Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders under Prevention of Corruption Act and Prevention of Money laundering Act.

In his petition filed on Saturday, Swamy said by illegally forming the private company Young Indian, Sonia and Rahul took control of the land allotted to National Herald newspaper by Urban Development Ministry on lease.

In his petition to CBI Director,  Swamy said Sonia Gandhi should be booked under Prevention of Corruption Act for abuse of power since she held  Cabinet Rank in the capacity of NAC Chairperson during the scam period 2010-2011. Pointing out that the others accused persons, Rahul Gandhi, Motilal Vora and Oscar Fernandez were ruling party MPs, he alleged that they abused their power by grabbing the prime land allotted by Urban Development Ministry for publication of National Herald newspaper.

“The land allotted in Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg were the Herald House stands allotted at concessional rates in this prime area by the Central Government was exclusively for publication of newspaper and thus the act of the accused persons grabbing public property, cheating, criminal breach of trust and forgery etc, not only are IPC offences the of which I am independently pursuing in the Magistrate Court in Patiala House in New Delhi, but it is clearly also offences under the Prevention fo Corruption Act and PMlA,” said Swamy in his three page letter to the CBI and ED Directors.

“Moreover, the first accused and prime conspirator Sonia Gandhi was holding Cabinet Rank as NAC Chairperson when the crime was allegedly committed 2010-11,” he added.

Swamy accused that previous Directors of the CBI and the ED had not acted on his petition even after the trial court  found prima facie fraud and land grabbing and money laundering of Rs90 crore involving Congress party.
