A suspended IPS officer and former DIG (Saran range) Alok Kumar has registered a case against State Director General of Police Abhayanand and two IG rank officers, Amit Kumar and Praveen Vashishtha, under SC/ST Act accusing them of making casteist remarks against him.

Alok Kumar is accused of demanding Rs 10 crore from a liquor businessman while he was serving as DIG (Saran range) earlier this year. After the preliminary inquiry against him, a case against Alok Kumar was registered with the Economic Offence Wing of the State police.

Presently, Vigilance Court is hearing his petition for the anticipatory bail while the Patna High Court has already passed a stay order on his arrest.

Meanwhile, Abhayanand said that Alok Kumar has registered case against him and other officers out of frustration and not much importance should be attached to it.
