Ministry o External Affairs is in touch with Oman Government on this and is following the investigations closely. Her body will be brought back to India once investigations are complete in Oman.

The 28-year-old nurse was working at a hospital in Salalah for the past two years and was living in Oman with her husband linson. Both worked at the same hospital.

According to initial reports, Chikku was stabbed to death when she tried to resist a robbery.

When Chikku did not report for duty at 11 pm on Wednesday, her husband went to check on her and found her lying dead in a pool of blood.

A Pakistani national, who was Chikku and linson's neighbour, has reportedly been held in connection with the incident.
