Sukhbir foresees early lS polls

Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Tuesday said that with DMK withdrawing its support from the UPA and Mulayam Singh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party breathing down the latter’s neck, early election to lok Sabha was inevitable.

“With Congress-led UPA government reduced to a minority, the passage of Union Budget in Parliament was also in doubt,” said Sukhbir while speaking to the media after assumption of charge by Akali leader Hira Singh Gabria as chairman of District Planning Committee, ludhiana.

Sukhbir said the UPA was in ICU and day-to-day supply of oxygen cylinders could not keep this brain-dead government alive for long.    PNS

“It is for the first time that Union Government has had to bargain on a daily basis to survive on the floor of the House,” he added.

SAD chief said his party and its alliance partner, the BJP, were fully prepared for early lok Sabha election and they had started the exercise of energizing their grassroots workers. Sukhbir said they had made up their mind to decimate Congress from the electoral politics of the State. The SAD-BJP combine would comfortably win all the 13 seats with record margins.
