Ponzy fund swindler Sudipta Sen on Sunday made yet another somersault accusing “netas and mantrins” (politicians and Ministers) as also an army of fraudulent staff for the failure of his 22,000 crore money marketing empire.
The alleged scamster, who was once again remanded to 10 days’ police custody on Sunday by a South 24 Parganas court said he could have successfully met his liabilities but for the “netas and mantris who had to be appeased” and a battery of “unfaithful staff who robbed the company of its resources.”
Sen who was produced at the Baruipur court amid protests by the agents and defrauded depositors leading to a mild lathi-charge by the police also blamed his software developers who cheated him. “Many of my staff simply looted money” he said listing also his lack of knowledge in money marketing that did not help him either.
Curiously Sen had earlier filed an affidavit in Calcutta High Court stating there was no need for a CBI probe as the investigation under Bidhannagar police was going well. This affidavit had come barely a month after his first letter to the CBI seeking an inquiry by the same agency as he had no faith in the State police.
Bengal’s Trinamool Congress Government was facing its biggest ever political crisis in the wake of Saradha chit fund scam following reports that a host of MPs and Ministers took favours from Sen who also funded hugely adding to the ruling party’s pecuniary fortunes.
An estimated one crore people have been defrauded by the chit fund companies in Bengal and the Saradha group is only one of them. The total scam amount is estimated to anywhere around Rs1 lakh crore.
Meanwhile the SEBI has run an advertisement asking people not to invest in chit funds which had no license in money investment schemes.
