A 23-year-old engineering student was allegedly molested and threatened by her peer inside the campus of JSS Academy of Technical Education in Sector 62, Noida. Police have arrested the accused identified as Shyam Rawat (25), a resident of Agra, under section of 354,294,504 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.
Police said that the victim girl, along with her brother who belongs to Meerut district, is pursuing B Tech from JSS engineering college. Police said the incident first occurred on Sunday evening when the accused first made lewd comments and derogatory remarks while she was walking in the campus.
The incident again repeated on Monday afternoon when Rawat caught her hand and molested her publicly with obscene comments. Police said when she, along with her brother resisted, he threatened to kill her. Accused Shyam Rawat is also a B Tech student of JSS engineering college since 2009 and was staying as a paying guest near the college. An FIR was registered by police on her brother’s complaint in Sector 58 police station on Monday.
