A spurned lover shot at a girl in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. Police said angry that a 16-year-old girl was spurning his overtures, Bhupati Chakravarti opened fire from a country made gun and injured her seriously.
The incident too place in Yanadi village of Ramakuppam Mandal in Chittoor district this morning. Police said that the residents of the colony rushed the injured girl to a nearby hospital where she was under going treatment.
Girl's family told the police that Chakrvarti was harassing the shepherd girl Satya for some time. Police have arrested the assailant and were questioning him. The spurned lover told the police that he was heartbroken and angry by the girl's refusal to positively respond to his love.
