The Samajwadi Party, which once loathed modern technology, including computers, and showed its dislike for English, is now seeking help through technology-driven advertisements and campaign for the coming lok Sabha elections.
As a part of this technology infusion, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has spearheaded the idea of a lCD video book that will be distributed across the State and some parts of India with an aim to spread the Samajwadi party’s message far and wide.
Yadav, who is also the SP State president, launched the campaign of the party with release of the lCD video book and advertisements, along with songs on Mulayam Singh Yadav at the State party headquarters here on Monday.
The red notebook, which bears the photograph of SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, beside a map of UP reads Mann Se Hai Mulayam, Aur Irade lohe ke Hain. The diary is fitted within 2 inch X 4 inch screen that plays out the party’s Mann se hai Mulayam theme song, along with a video that details SP’s key political rallies and welfare schemes. “The lCD books have been designed to reach out to people in the remotest corner of the State and to whom we have not been able to reach as a part of our campaigns, the CM told reporters.
A slogan Har Din, Naya Kadam was also released. Yadav refused to give the details about the financial cost of these gadgets and said that it will be provided to the Election Commission as per the guidelines. Samajwadi Party leaders refused to say how many lCD gadgets will be distributed across UP and India.
The CM thanked poet Uday Pratap Singh for writing lyrics on Mulayam and Javed Ali for lending his voice. The CM said that the advertisements would be relayed in the TVs and other public places once it is approved by the EC as per the guidelines. He said that the song “Mann se Mulayam, magar erada lohe ka,” has already popular among the youths and it can be heard in the villages now a days.
