After burning his fingers in a pre-poll alliance with the Congress and Bahujan Samaj Party during two crucial elections, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said that his party would not be aligning with any major party in the 2022 Assembly elections.
Akhilesh is ready to bury the hatchet with estranged uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav who has formed his Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia). He said that if the SP came to power, Shivpal’s party would have representation in the cabinet.
The SP had forged an alliance with the Congress for 2017 UP Assembly polls and with the BSP and Rashtriya Lok Dal for the 2019 LS elections.
