SP leader urges party president to stake claim on Varanasi LS seat

Former UP Minister and national spokesperson of Samajwadi Party (SP) Virendra Singh has claimed that the party has strong base in Varanasi parliamentary constituency and so, the party’s Varanasi unit has urged the party national leadership to stake its claim on this seat in 2024 parliamentary election when it would discuss with the INDIA Alliance for seat sharing.

“The SP has strong base in Varanasi parliamentary constituency and so, the party’s Varanasi unit has urged the party national leadership to stake its claim on this seat in 2024 parliamentary election when sit to discuss with the INDIA Alliance for seat sharing so that the party could make direct fight with the ruling BJP”, Singh said while talking to “The Pioneer”.

The party chief AkhileshYadav has clearly conveyed the message to party leaders to make preparation for the election on all 80 seats of Lok Sabha in UP, he said, adding that the party has already started its preparation as the election can be contested strongly only when the preparations are complete. And in this order, six zones and 30 sectors have been constituted in each assembly and 10 booths have been constituted in each sector while a committee of 20 youths has been constituted in each booth. The booth level committee has been directed to remain active in view to strengthen party organisation keeping the parliamentary election in view, he said.

Congress Party has no organisational structure in UP and contrary to it, the SP has booth level workers, Singh said, adding that if the Congress Party wants to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha election strongly, it would have to seek the help of the SP.  The alliance will succeed in UP or not, it all will depend on the Congress Party and the party national leadership will decide on the issue of alliance, he added.

Each political party has right to extend its base and the SP is contesting assembly elections in MP where it is finding itself strong, Singh said and added that it would not make any impact on the alliance in the parliamentary election. And the statements being given by the party chief Akhilesh Yadav during electioneering is nothing but to boost the morale of party workers to ensure the victory of party candidates.

If the idol of Lord Ram is installed by Shankaracharya in Ayodhya it does not matter who is yajaman whether it is PM Modi or another person and all the political parties should attend the installation ceremony of the idol of Lord Ram if invited by the organiser, the SP senior leader said.

Akhilesh Yadav is the right candidate for the prime ministerial post in the 2024 Lok Sabha election but it would be decided by the INDIA Alliance. The allegation of corruption on the Chattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raises questions over the investigating agency as this serious allegation was leveled without the investigation as it itself mentioned in its press statement released regarding this that the investigation into this matter is going on, Singh said.
