In an attempt to replicate its success of Assembly elections in the forthcoming lok Sabha polls, the Samajwadi Party launched a cycle Yatra with a resolve to sweep the election and apprise people of the achievements of the Government.
Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav flagged-off cycle yatra from Jantar Mantar in New Delhi that would pass through western and central parts of Uttar Pradesh and reach lucknow on March 6.
“Through this cycle yatra the message of party’s achievements among the masses would be spread. The party aims to win maximum number of seats in the forthcoming lok Sabha election. A Government with Samajwadi ideology would take the country to the path of development,” Yadav told party workers before flagging-off the yatra.
Hundreds of youth riding bicycles shouted, “UP ko jeeta hain ab Delhi ko jeetenge” (We had won UP and now will win Delhi). The yatra would be spread into three routes and all of them are being led by head of the frontal organisations of the party. One of the batches would be led by former president of Chaatra Sabha Sunil Yadav, Yuvjan Sabha chief Md Aibab is heading second batch while State president of Chaatra Sabha Atul Pradhan is leading the third batch.
“Maintain a balance in life because it is mandatory to ride a cycle and achieve success. Go to the people and tell them about the schemes that have been launched by the Government. Tell them it is only the Samajwadi Party that has fulfilled all the promises it has made in last two years,” the Chief Minister said.
