SP Govt must go for Barabanki death: Maya

Setting aside all speculation about having truck with Asaduddin Owaisi-led All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) in the 2017 Assembly polls, BSP supremo Mayawati demanded immediate removal of Samajwadi Party-led Uttar Pradesh Government accusing it of being biased towards a particular caste.

“The sensational incident of torching a woman inside a police station in Barabanki demands immediate termination of all the cops besides their arrest but it is strange that the Chief Minister is still trying to hush up the matter just as the station incharge belongs to a particular caste,” alleged Mayawati while taking on Akhilesh Yadav and his Government on deteriorating law and order issue. Demanding removal of the State Government, Mayawati also charged the BJP of having truck with the SP particularly on making a compromise on law and order issue.

“The BJP MPs and leaders should also force their leadership in New Delhi to impose President’s Rule in the State without doing dharna ‘drama’ in lucknow and fulfil the promises made to the people of the State during 2014 lok Sabha polls,” she demanded. She alleged that there is a nexus between the SP and BJP as popularity of both parties are on downfall and they are conspiring for communal violence in UP before the 2017 Assembly polls. “But now people know the real face of both parties and they will not fall in their trap and teach both the SP and BJP a lesson,” she asserted. “If now the Governor doesn’t recommend the President’s Rule, then people will not forgive him or the BJP,” she added.

The former State Chief Minister also denied of having any pre-poll alliance in the Assembly polls or any other elections across the country where they had their own organisation. “BSP will contest alone in all the Assembly elections whether it is Bihar or UP,” she said while denying speculation of having truck with MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi. Owaisi is said to be keen for having a tie-up with the BSP in the coming Assembly polls.

Criticising the SP Government’s decision to revert 64 engineers on Supreme Court’s order on consequential seniority in promotion for the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled tribes, the BSP president claimed that the apex court had not cancelled the policy and had just ordered for stringent rule to be implemented. “The present State Government is biased against Dalits and other backward communities and is just interested in benefiting a particular caste,” she alleged demanding reinstating of the reverted engineers. She also claimed that the so-called Dalit conference by the Samajwadi Party slated to be held in Azamgarh on July 11 was only an eyewash as it would be certain that some other caste people would sit in the conference claiming themselves as Dalits.

Showing her concern over a series of mysterious death of suspects and others in the Vyapam scam, Mayawati demanded resignation of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The BSP supremo called that the matter must be probed by the CBI under the supervision of Supreme Court. “The MP CM should step down for an impartial probe into the Vyapam scam,” she added. The apex court is expected to hear the Vyapam scam case on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the BSP president lambasted the BJP on corruption issue, saying that the party which came to power on the slogan of ‘Na Khayenge, Na Khane Denge’ (won’t indulge in corruption and won’t let others to do so), was involved in several corrupt practices including the matter of lalit Modi and the scams surfaced in the BJP-ruled States during the past one year. “The BJP and Congress are two sides of the same coin for double talks,” she alleged.
