After evading arrest for over three weeks, the main accused in the murder of Siwan journalist Rajdeo Ranjan surrendered in a court of Chief Judicial Magistrate in Siwan on Thursday.
laddan Mian, a notorious criminal of UP, who is suspected to had been involved in the conspiracy of the scribe’s murder on May 13, is believed to be close to RJD strongman and five term MP Mohammad Shahabuddin.
The former MP who was in Siwan district jail for over a decade, has recently been shifted to Bhagalpur Central jail.
laddan Mian, who is on bail, asserted that he had nothing to do with the journalist's murder. But the five sharp shooters arrested by the police last week, had indicated the involvement of Mian, who came out of jail on April 27. The police claimed that Mian with his family, fled two hours before the
killing.
The CJM (Chief Judicial Magistrate) forwarded him to judicial custody for 14 days.
The police had launched a search operation to arrest him but failed.
The Bihar Government had forwarded the Siwan journalist murder case to the CBI. The Central agency took over the probe a day earlier and the police handed over all the relevant documents to the sleuths of the CBI.
One day prior to this, there had been rumours in Siwan that laddan Mian was killed in a police encounter on Bihar-UP border at Nandpur Village.
