With the cropping of the names of two Ministers, a couple of MlAs and a former Union Minister in the paper leak scam and other irregularities in the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC), the politics has suddenly heated up.
According to the documents produced in the court by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on the basis of evidences collected the names of Cooperative Minister Alok Mehta and law Minister Krsihna Nandan Verma, MlAs Ram Balak Singh of JD(U) and Ssuresh Kumar Sharma of BJP and national vice president of RJD and former Union Minister Raghubansh Prasad Singh have been revealed.
According to sources the “evidence” were collected from the records and mobile phones of BSSC secretary Parmeshwar Ram, who is in jail, and other sources. BSSC chairman and 1987 batch IAS officer Sudhir Kumar had also been arrested in this connection.
It has been disclosed that these highly placed politicians had strongly recommended names of their candidates for their selection and appointment in clerical and other others jobs.
Minister Mehta, who is from RJD, admitted doing “pairvi”. He said, “It is not secret that politicians do make such recommendations. They are visited by different type of people who come for favour and we have to do it.”
When Raghubansh Singh was confronted, he refused to say anything
BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi reiterated his demand for the CBI probe in this scandal. He said, “It should be ascertained if the candidates recommended by the politicians really got the job.” JD(U) spokesman Neraj Kumar said that his Government was acting without any malice and SIT was doing its job sincerely. “CM Nitish Kumar neither protect nor implicate anybody.”
